Prevalent
Medical Conditions
Building on the exceptional work Ontario school boards have done in implementing Sabrina’s Law (2005) and Ryan’s Law (2015), OESC has created sample Plans of Care to support the Ministry of Education’s PPM 161: Supporting Children and Students with Prevalent Medical Conditions (Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Diabetes, and/or Epilepsy) in Schools. A comprehensive document entitled, Administrative Framework – Developing a Board Policy on Prevalent Medical Conditions (updated Feb. 28, 2018) has also been created.
